Take It Off!

We all wear one,
It hides our true face from the sun,
Causes people to misunderstand,
And be disappointed when we slip our hand.
We let people see what we want them to see,
Try to be what our “face” dictates us to be,
It’s the mask that we wear to hide the issues we bear,
And we think if we take it off nobody will care.
Dear God, I ask You for Your help,
To take it off, to let me be myself,
So that I can be truly free,
